Magic Mushrooms: Creating a Basic Magic Mushroom Tea in 2 steps

You can use magic mushrooms in a variety of ways: you can drink them as a magic mushroom tea, eat them as an edible, or just dry them out and inhale their spores. Whatever your preferred method is, there are some things you should know before trying magic mushroom tea for the first time. Mushroom tea has been around for centuries, but it’s only recently that people have started to talk about its effects on the brain. Shamans have used magic mushroom tea as part of their spiritual practices for ages but more recently it became popular among psychonauts looking for some new perspective in life never before seen from outside our own world. Besides the recreational effects, researchers have shown in recent studies that psilocybin can help with depression and bipolar disorder. In this article, I will be discussing what magic mushrooms are and how to make them into a delicious tea for personal consumption whether for medicinal or recreational reasons.

What are magic mushrooms?

Magic mushrooms are a type of fungi that contain various psychoactive substances, including psilocybin and psilocin, which are the active ingredients. These chemicals affect the receptors in your brain to alter how you think and feel throughout the experience. When you consume a magic mushroom, also called psilocybin mushrooms, it affects you by stimulating the production of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that regulates your mood.  This is the reason people feel emotional and overwhelmed after taking magic mushrooms.

The vast majority of magic mushrooms are found in clusters on trees and so they will grow naturally throughout the world without you having to do much work for them. However, if you want more consistent results or don’t have access to any wild patches then it is possible to cultivate mushroom spores by placing them into an agar solution containing nutrients such as soybean flour. Magic mushrooms can be grown indoors with relative ease but note that they require special conditions since the fungus doesn’t usually thrive in indoor spaces unless there is an issue such as mold growth caused by improper humidity levels. This means keeping everything clean while providing plenty of light (either artificial or natural). It generally takes about a week to grow mushrooms indoors and about a month for them to grow outside.

What do I need to make a magic mushroom tea?

Magic mushrooms are awesome – they can be ingested in many different ways but the easiest is by making magic mushroom tea from dried or fresh magic mushroom powder, hot water, and milk (optional). You need:

  • Dried or fresh magic mushrooms that you want to turn into your own personal stash of psychedelic medicine
  • A container with boiling water
  • Milk if desired

Most people like their tea plain so it’s all up to preference whether you use milk or not. The only other thing I would recommend is using a strainer because sometimes particles such as dirt will leak through the pores on the cap while drying which won’t help you out with your stomach.

How to make magic mushroom tea

Below are the very easy steps to make magic mushroom tea.

  • Cut up the dried or fresh mushrooms into small pieces and put them in a container of boiling water. If you have dried mushrooms it is recommended to chop them up into a fine powder.
  • Steep for 15 minutes and then strain, adding milk if desired!

Some people even prefer to empty out a tea bag and retie it with the mushrooms inside to easily steep them without having to separate the mushroom particulates from the tea later.

I recommend starting with one cup at first so don’t go overboard – this is not something to take lightly and consuming too large a dose can lead to unpleasant side effects.

Dosing is important when it comes to any drug and it is always better to start with a smaller dose and to take more later if necessary.  The average dose of magic mushrooms is somewhere between 20-30g, but the truth is that it’s different for everyone. Follow your instinct and take a smaller dose to start with if you are new to this experience and then try again with a higher dose if you feel like it.

The other factor to consider when dosing magic mushroom tea is the potency of mushrooms that you are using and how old they are, freshness does matter as well.  The best way is to start by grinding them up into powder form and measuring their weight in grams (with scales). From there people usually use one cup for every 50g, or about 150ml water per 100-150g of dried shrooms – but keep in mind these numbers can vary depending on your personal tolerance for this type of drug.

A lot of folks will also throw some lemon juice or lime into the mix before drinking it just because they think it tastes better and can mask the flavor of psychedelic mushrooms.

The most important thing once you are done brewing a batch is to not leave the tea to steep for too long, so it doesn’t taste like dirt water.

The mixture should be consumed within 15-30 minutes of preparing it and most people say that magic mushrooms are at their peak when they first drink them.

Is drinking magic mushroom tea safe?

Some people consume this to get high and some do it in order to reach an altered state of consciousness or even because they believe it will help them see things clearer.

This tea can bind to the stomach and create feelings of nausea in some people.

People have also reported having skin rashes from this, too so it’s a good idea not to mix magic mushrooms with anything else in your system such as alcohol or other drugs.

Bad trips do occur but you will be safest if you follow these instructions but keep in mind that every person reacts differently so there are no guarantees!

Effects of Magic Mushroom Tea

The most common effects people feel when drinking magic mushroom tea are things like an increase in mood, a heightened state of awareness, and changes to the senses.

The tea can make you feel lightheaded, dizzy, and confused so it’s best to do this in a safe place.

It also has the potential to trigger hallucinations which might be scary for those who don’t have any experience with psychedelics or hallucinogens before.

The effects tend to last anywhere from an hour to a few hours so as long as you do not take too large of a dose you are in for hours of fun. Enjoy!
